MILLIS -- April 29, 2026, Millis DPW Director Jim McKay outlined his Select Board platform in a candidate profile aired April 29 on Millis Community Media. McKay, who has served as the town's DPW Director for 20 years and as a Planning Board member for 18 years, is one of two candidates for the sole contested race on the May 11 ballot, a three-year Select Board term. His top stated priority is expanding the Select Board from three to five members, with one seat per precinct and two at-large, though he acknowledged the change requires a state process and noted a prior study committee's effort died before reaching a town meeting vote. On infrastructure, McKay pointed to a $1.7 million MassDOT grant for Route 109 paving, secured after the state initially offered $100,000, and described a coming Exchange Street intersection project funded by a Complete Streets grant. On senior issues, he cited two existing tax relief programs and said he would require a formal public process prioritizing elderly housing before the town transfers the Cassidy or Braun parcels to the housing authority. Polls open May 11 at Town Hall from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
