MILLIS — The Millis Select Board approved the November 3 state election warrant and previewed a roughly $1.5 million sewer capacity purchase ahead of the November 9 fall town meeting. The board, chaired in the absence of Chair Craig, said Millis would buy 150,000 gallons of sewer capacity from Franklin at $10.50 a gallon, calling it a "once in a lifetime" opportunity since the Charles River Pollution Control District caps the town at 668,000 gallons. Town Administrator Mike flagged a separate warrant article that would redirect $1,352,565 in leftover Clyde F.
Brown School bond proceeds toward the Middle High School project. The board also discussed a citizen petition to permanently restrict roughly 15 acres at Cassidy Field to passive recreation; resident Susan Simpson, of 52 Island Road, told the board the land "was also deeded for all the other things that we have in this petition." A stormwater hearing for the Woodland Subdivision was continued to October 19 after engineer Dan Merrick fell ill. The board also approved a $4,039.07 water and sewer commitment.
