Millis Planning Board extends Acorn Place special permit one month to allow final infrastructure repairs. The board voted unanimously Tuesday to postpone closing out the long-running special permit for the Acorn Place Senior Residential Community after residents cited three unresolved items: a buckled sidewalk, a nonfunctional drainage grate, and an incomplete irrigation connection estimated to cost $2,775. Steve Carden, president of the Acorn Place Board of Trustees, and resident Rich Campbell told the board the developer had verbally committed to cooperating, but the developer's corporate entity has since dissolved, leaving residents with limited formal recourse.

One board member cautioned that an open permit could complicate unit sales by triggering lender contingencies. Separately, the board's Zoning Bylaw Review Committee liaison Nicole reported the panel would pause efforts to submit zoning amendments for a spring town-meeting public hearing after learning that General Code, a newly contracted codification firm, is about to begin digitizing and reorganizing the entire town zoning code book.
